Home alarm kit for Sheffield, ready to fit on day one
Home alarm kit for Sheffield: built for stone terraces, semis and flats, configured and tested before shipping, fitted with no drilling. Get my system proposal.
Sheffield is a city of hills, stone and cellars. A Walkley terrace can have a pavement-level front door, a cellar under the front room and a back yard reached by a shared gennel. A Nether Edge villa has bay windows, a long garden and a side gate. A flat in a converted works on Kelham Island has a fob entrance and a single front door. Tell us which one you live in, and we design a wireless alarm for it, configure and test every device, then ship the kit ready to fit.
Why a Sheffield home needs its own alarm plan
Three things about Sheffield housing change the way we design a kit.
The slope
On streets that climb as steeply as those in Crookes, Walkley or Meersbrook, the back of a house is often a full storey lower or higher than the front. A back kitchen that looks like a ground floor from the yard may sit below street level. We map each level from your description, not from a standard floor plan, so that every door and window someone could reach from the outside is covered.
The stone
Many older houses are built of thick local stone, and a cellar ceiling or a party wall can weaken any wireless signal. Before shipping, we test the radio link between the hub and each device on the bench, and if a detector is a long way from the hub, a range extender goes into the box.
The cellar
Cellars are common in Victorian terraces, sometimes with a small window or an old coal grate at the front. Out of sight and rarely visited, they deserve a contact or a detector of their own.

Three Sheffield homes and what we protect first
Terrace with a gennel
The shared passage between houses leads straight to the back yards, where nobody from the street can see. The back door and the kitchen window come first, then a photo detector in the hallway so that you see who is inside before deciding what to do.
Victorian semi or detached house
Bay windows, a side gate, a garage or a garden office, and on the western edge, gardens that open towards fields and woodland. We cover the ground-floor openings, add a contact on the garage door and suggest an outdoor detector only if it can watch your own garden without facing the neighbours.
Flat in a conversion or new build
One front door, perhaps a balcony, a bike in the hallway. A contact with shock sensor on the door, a detector in the living room and a leak detector under the washing machine if there are flats below. Check with your managing agent before fitting anything in shared areas.
How your Sheffield kit reaches you
Tell us about the house
Levels, cellar, doors, windows, yard or garden, pets and who holds keys. A short form, or photos sent on WhatsApp.

A VISAO technician lists each device, where it goes and why. You can ask for changes before ordering.
We prepare the kit
After your order, each device is paired with the hub, named by room, configured and tested, then packed ready to fit.
You fit it, guided
Adhesive mounts and an illustrated guide. A technician joins you on a video call to check each position and run the final test.
Who receives the alert?
The kit is self-monitored. When a detector triggers, the siren sounds and the people you choose get a notification on their phones, with photos from the detectors that take them. You decide what to do next and call 999 if a crime is in progress. It is not a monitored service with a direct link to South Yorkshire Police: our guide to police response to alarms in England explains the difference. Renting? Read which alarm for a rented flat before you choose.
The equipment is wireless Ajax hardware with encrypted radio, battery back-up and NF&A2P certification, the French benchmark for intruder alarm equipment. Our team has 17 years in the security trade and has worked for brands such as Renault, Decathlon and McDonald’s.
Questions from Sheffield homeowners and tenants
My house is on a steep hill with a cellar. Will one hub cover every floor?
Often yes, but thick stone and cellar ceilings can weaken the signal. That is why we ask how many levels you have and where the cellar is. If a device is far from the hub, we add a range extender and test the link before the kit leaves us, then check it again with you on the video call.
Can I watch the gennel or the back yard with a camera?
An outdoor detector with a photo camera can watch your own yard or garden. Point it at your property, not at the shared passage or your neighbours’ windows, and talk to the neighbours who share the gennel before fitting anything there.
We are a shared student house. Can each of us arm our own room?
The system can be split into groups, so shared areas and individual rooms can be armed separately, each person with their own fob or code. Agree it with your housemates and your landlord first.
